Two Iran shorts to vie at Filmfest Dresden – International Short Film Festival in Germany.
'Maned o Macho' by Shival Sadegh Asadi and 'Retouch' by Kaveh Mazaheri are to vie with some 40 other films at the international competition section of the German festival.
'Maned o Macho' narrates the story of a young girl's repressed emotions and instincts that are embodied in some animals which come out of her dreams. However, no one in her family is receptive to these animals.
Co-produced by Mazaheri and the Iranian Young Cinema Society, ‘Retouch’ tells the story of a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes while she cannot do anything but to witness the unfolding of this tragic event.
Founded in 1989, Filmfest Dresden focuses on short film in all its facets, and has become one of the most important festivals of its kind throughout Germany.
The short film festival is also one of the best endowed short film festivals in Europe with prizes and awards worth more than €60,000.
The 30th edition of the event is to be launched on April 17-22, 2018.
